We know from the last Will & Testament of Evan Morgan of Tynacymmer (dated 2nd February 1863) that he owned the Rhondda Hotel at that time.On the 12th April 1863 Evan Morgan died .After this time it is unclear whether Evan Morgan left the Rhondda Hotel to his wife Margret Morgan or a fellow Victualler Josiah Lewis but the two subsequently married.
In November 1881 Josiah Lewis died and Margret Lewis (nee Morgan) become sole executor of his will and the Rhondda Hotel was passed to her.In May 1894 when Marget Lewis died and the Rhondda Hotel was passed on to Robert Ajax Lewis , son of Josiah Lewis.The Rhondda Hotel appears to stay in this family with Fredrick Dunn and William Hood as Trustees.
In July 1925 the Rhondda Valley and Ely Brewery Company took tenancy of the property for the sum of £500.
